The collection documents the practice of veterinary medicine in New York State through correspondence and notices from the State of New York Department of Agriculture, letters from veterinarians reporting on tuberculosis and other local problems including unlicensed veterinary practice and the attempt in 1914 to regulate these practices through creation of a Southern Tier Veterinary Medical Association to include Steuben, Chemung, Tioga, Broome, Chenango, Tompkins, Schuyler, and Yates Counties.
